The Ethereal Plane at the
Director's View Film Festival
in Stamford, CT, February 2002

What a thrill it was to get our first acceptance into a film festival! For a while, I thought we had a chance at winning something, but not after seeing the winning films...they were all expensive, professsional, fully unionized and crewed films. We never stood a chance. They should have a section of the festival for low budget video productions, for projects like ours.

Below, enjoy some moments from the event...

The Gala Awards Evening________________________________________________

Filmmakers Clarke & Leilani Smith
All dressed up for the opening night celebration in Stamford, CT.
A screening of 1978's "Superman" and lots of celebraties made for a very exciting evening.

With Joe Pantaliano
What a cool guy! Joey Pants has appeared in such classics as
The Fugitive
, The Matrix, and of course, beheaded in The Sopranos!

With Mathew Modine
Another super cool dude! He wished us the best of luck on our film. I've been a fan ever since Full Metal Jacket.

Posing with acclaimed director Richard Donner
What a great career he's had. How do you go from The Omen, to Superman, to The Goonies, to the Lethal Weapon series? What a diverse genius, and a down to earth guy!

The Ethereal Plane was screened the following morning in Norwalk. Afterward, the cast and Smith went up to the stage to answer questions from the judges and audience.

Q & A on Stage_______________________________________________________

From left to right, Yael Martinez, Ron Rogell, Gene Gabriel,
and Clarke M. Smith.

One of the judges asks about the actor's backrounds.

Last but not least, a celebratory lunch at Coaches in Stamford. The actual last time the whole primary cast was together :(
